The difference between AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 is:
- OHSAS 18001 is internationally recognised.
- OHSAS 18001 is more closely aligned to other standards, including Quality.
- Certification to OHSAS 18001 includes certification to AS/NZS 4801.
- OHSAS 18001 certification requires minimal additional time and costs compared to AS/NZS 4801 certification.
Which Standard is right for you?
Typically, companies solely operating in Australia without any other certifications elect to pursue AS/NZS 4801. Organisations that operate internationally or maintain Quality and or Environmental certification elect OHSAS 18001.Â
