Work-related psychological injuries often stem from interpersonal difficulties, communication breakdowns or conflict between employees/ managers. Mediation and conflict resolution are strategies designed to address or minimise the ongoing impact of conflict and relationship difficulties in the workplace.
The Recovery Partners mediation approach is led by an experienced consultant, usually a registered psychologist. The first step includes assessment with each stakeholder individually, which can often result in defusing the situation. The second step (if deemed appropriate and necessary) involves a group resolution meeting where the psychologist will facilitate productive conversation to address issues and develop strategies to re-establish a professional relationship. A written document is agreed upon and signed by all parties with a commitment to implement the developed strategies in the workplace.
