About the event

Join Recovery Partners and QBE Insurance on Wednesday 26 October from 5pm AEDT at Crowne Plaza in Melbourne as we hear all about psychosocial hazards from Chi Ly and resilience from Steve Truman.

The Victorian Government’s proposed Occupational Health and Safety Amendment (Psychological Health) Regulations (Vic) (the Proposed Regulations) are expected to are expected to commence late this year.

State and Territory Work Health and Safety (WHS) Ministers agreed in May 2021 to implement regulations focused on mitigating risks to employees’ mental health.

The proposed Regulations require employers, so far as is reasonably practicable, to identify psychosocial hazards.

Psychosocial hazards are defined in the proposed Regulations to mean:

‘any factor or factors in the work design, systems of work, management of work, carrying out of work or personal or work-related interactions that may arise in the working environment and may cause an employee to experience one or more negative psychological responses that create a risk to their health and safety.’

The event will cover the changes to the regulations and help you understand exactly what psychosocial hazards are, how to identify them and most importantly, how to minimise them within the workplace. You will also hear about the importance of resilience in this ever-changing world and what can be done at both an organisational and individual level.
