RECOVERY PARTNERS: THE REHAB EXPERTS
Veteran Rehabilitation Services
Recovery Partners is a workplace rehabilitation provider contracted to work with DVA. We have over 30 consultants working closely with veterans, from Darwin to Hobart. We have over 10 years’ experience providing Veteran Rehabilitation Services and it goes without saying that we absolutely love working with veterans and DVA! Our services are funded by DVA Rehabilitation itself so you are never out of pocket.
Recovery Partners are a national rehabilitation provider contracted with the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to deliver Rehabilitation Services to eligible veterans. For more information on DVA’s Rehabilitation Services, please visit the DVA website.
How can Recovery Partners help me?
We can help you access rehabilitation services and household services through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
We will help you figure out if you would benefit from medical management assistance, psychosocial support and vocational rehabilitation.

Medical Management
Sometimes it can be tricky finding a good local GP that knows how to complete DVA paperwork correctly or a good Physiotherapist or Psychiatrist that can provide treatment. Often it can be a struggle to continue doing household chores when you are still recovering from your injuries.
We can help you:
- Link in with experienced local treaters to support your recovery.
- Access household services to better manage your conditions

Psychosocial Rehabilitation
DVA loves supporting veterans in engaging in hobbies or workshops that are meaningful to you, something that will help you interact with your local community or simply help you get out of the house.
We can help you obtain DVA’s funding for activities including (but not limited to):
- 3 month gym membership, pool pass, Yoga classes, Pilates lessons
- RSL membership, ESO fees, hobby club memberships
- Language classes
- Mindfulness and meditation courses
- Arts and crafts classes
- Short self help courses to provide knowledge to better manage your finances
- Short courses that aim to assist with managing your day to day living better

Vocational Rehabilitation
DVA acknowledges that you may need retraining or job seeking support to help you embark on a new career, when you feel ready to do so.
We can help you:
- Confirm any recognition of prior learning you are entitled to from your ADF service
- Identify any retraining that is required to help you pursue a new vocation (be it from a Cert 3 to a Bachelor degree)
- Increase your confidence with job seeking, from resume and cover letter development to connecting you with organisations that exclusively hire veterans.
We can also help you figure out if you would benefit from any home modifications, equipment or household services such as domestic cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, gardening, pool cleaning and equipment to ensure you are well supported within your home environment.
How do I get assistance?
If you would like to know more about our rehabilitation services or household services, please reach out to our DVA Relationship Manager, Siva Nagendra for a free confidential phone call 0414 125 966 to discuss this further.
Alternatively, you can call 1800 838 372, ask to speak to DVA Rehabilitation or DVA Household Services team, ask to be referred to Recovery Partners for an assessment and we will then be in touch to discuss this further.

Activities of Daily Living assessment referrals received. All were completed within 2 weeks of referral being received.
Open Arms
Open Arms was founded by Australia’s Vietnam veterans. They provide free, 24 hour counselling services for Australian veterans and their families, from Darwin to Hobart and everywhere in between.
Recovery Partners is a proud supporter of Open Arms and the amazing work they do!
Some of their workshops are online, others are based in person over 1-2 days.
These programs and workshops are highly recommended by Recovery Partners consultants as they help veterans address their wellbeing needs, such as how to improve their sleep, manage their anxiety better or how to beat the blues. This in turn helps veterans achieve their medical management goals.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US
Testimonials
Before entering the Rehabilitation Program, I was overwhelmed with uncertainty, anxiety, and the complexity of transitioning out of Defence. The daunting task of finding highly specialized healthcare providers and obtaining the correct approvals for RPBS treatment seemed insurmountable. Siva made this entire process smooth and manageable. I wholeheartedly recommend the services of Recovery Partners, particularly my Rehab Consultant, Siva, who made my transition a hassle-free experience. The support, guidance, and the genuine care I received throughout the process were beyond my expectations.
The support I have received through Recovery Partners has made my transition process less stressful + anxiety inducing than expect. It has been very helpful to have someone to assist who knows the process + support available. Of particular the gentle push + reminders to engage in help + services available has been fantastic.
My rehab consultant has been amazing to deal with in my rehabilitation program. Her diligence in her job and especially me when it comes to answering my questions/queries. She does this by providing me with any information I need or ask for promptly and in a polite and professional manner that has exceeded all my expectations when dealing with my rehabilitation program. I look forward to continuing to work with Siva in the future regarding my rehab program and I know any other member she may come across when dealing with these matters will resonate with my gratitude towards her and her work.
I was very hesitant when Recovery Partners first contacted me as, being a health care professional myself, I had heard a lot about rehab coordinators from my DVA clients. I previously had experience with an OT company and found them to be a little intimidating. Since meeting with my rehab provider I was instantly reassured from the first word. I would recommend Recovery Partners to my Veteran friends as I felt valued, listened to, understood, and reassured. I was delighted to be asked "Is there anything that you have ever wanted to do but never had the time for? ". I feel that Rehab Partners met my personal needs and am looking forwards to commencing psychosocial activities that I have chosen - learning to fly model aeroplanes and a French cooking course! I am looking forwards to immersing myself in my new hobbies.
