Injured workers often face a daunting and isolating experience, not only due to the physical and emotional pain of their injury, but also due to the stigma of being on WorkCover. The common perception is that injured workers are exploiting the system, looking for a quick payout or a free pass to avoid work. But the truth is far from it.

WorkCover is a vital safety net for injured workers, providing essential financial support and medical care to help them recover and return to work. The system is designed to support workers who have been injured on the job, not to punish or penalize them.

So, how can we challenge the stigma surrounding WorkCover and support injured workers?

  • Creating a safe and supportive work environment: Encourage employers to create a safe and supportive work environment, where injured workers feel comfortable reporting their injury and seeking support.
